Every year, the NWRCT delivers culturally relevant programs and services to empower and build the collective capacity and self-sufficiency of Indigenous Women. At NWRCT, you will be working in a unionized environment with a variety of clients, community members, and staff committed to providing a welcoming and safe place to build women\u2019s confidence and strengthen the family unit guided by our Sacred Teachings in all that we do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Wisdom \u2022 Bravery \u2022 love\u2022 True \u2022 Respect \u2022 Humility \u2022 Honesty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Investing in Women Future<\/strong> Program aims to reduce indigenous women&#8217;s vulnerability to poverty and abuse by providing strategies and workshops to promote women\u2019s economic independence through direct service and referrals pertaining to employment\/education\/training, developing goals, small business support, and offering one-on-one assistance, group workshops, and culturally relevant programming. This position will be directly accountable to the Program Manager or a designated person for the execution of some of the activities described below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You Will Bring Along:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Post-secondary diploma\/degree in community wellness or related field, with a minimum of three (3) years\u2019 work experience in advocacy or community engagement, or the equivalent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working with Indigenous Peoples and Communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and family dynamics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive knowledge of Employment readiness, enhancement, and employability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer Savvy and working knowledge of Office equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to speak to a large group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to network and maintain relationships with service providers and other entities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational and time management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current Police Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Screening are required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First Aid and CPR certifications are an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You Will Be Doing:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Process in-house individual needs assessment to determine the client\u2019s employment, education, training, and goals, develop an action plan, determine appropriate referrals, and follow up on their ongoing processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote, execute, and support resume writing, interview preparation, cover letters, the application process, access to the Dress for Success Program, and navigation of employment service systems for employment\/self-employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage and promote the \u201cdress for success\u201d room\/ program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a roster of Employers, skill-building programming, and supportive resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure IWF Information and Bulletin Board are updated frequently, and information is reflected on social media and the website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate, facilitate, promote, and advertise daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual program activities and workshops as well as ensure room readiness and tidiness before and\/or after each program activity\/workshop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and connect culturally based activities by positively promoting Indigenous healing and wellness, with a focus on VAW matters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness, and implementation of cultural teachings and organizational practices in a professional manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TO APPLY:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please provide a cover letter and resume to <a href=\"mailto:daniela@nwrct.ca\"><strong>Daniela<\/strong><\/a> or fill in the application form below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>APPLICATION DEADLINE<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dec 05<sup>th<\/sup>, 2025 @ noon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>NWRCT\u2019s opportunity for employment is non-discriminatory and in compliance with the provisions of the Ontario Human Rights Code and the City of Toronto\u2019s Anti-Discrimination Clause.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Due to the nature of the organization\u2019s culturally based social services, NWRCT encourages applications from Indigenous women (Section 24 (1) (a), Special Employment, Ontario Human Rights Code).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We welcome all self-identifying Indigenous women (cisgender, transgender, and two-spirited people).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Type:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Full-Time Opportunity; Working on-Premises.
